The Shire of Capel advises that in accordance with Section 6.36 of the Local Government Act 1995, proposes to adopt the following differential rates in the dollar, minimum rate, and specified area rate for the 2026/27 financial year.

Main Roads WA will soon commence a series of safety upgrades at key intersections around Capel.

Motorists are advised that the northern entrance to Capel Drive from Bussell Highway is expected to close from Monday 15 June to Monday 13 July (approx.) as part of Main Roads WA safety improvement works.

Wednesday 17 June 2026, commencing at 6:00pm

The Shire of Capel will be undertaking tree pruning works on Hasties Road on: Thursday 18 June and Friday 19 June between 9:30am to 2:30pm

From Monday 15 June to Monday 22 June (weekdays only), works will be underway on Portobello Road to construct the new entry and car park for the upcoming ALDI development.

Notice of Special Council Meeting

Tuart Drive, between Ludlow Road North and Layman Road, will be closed from 6:00am to 8:00pm on Monday, 2 June and Tuesday, 3 June.

Residents are advised that works will be taking place on Naroona Drive, Dalyellup from Tuesday 19 May to Friday 29 May, between 7:00am and 5:00pm (weekdays only).

We’d like to keep the community informed about the current closure of Gwindinup Bridge on Gwindinup Road.

The Shire of Capel will be carrying out Re-Sheeting Works on Forrest Beach Drive.

Looks like our Dalyellup Beach toilets (at the end of Dalyellup Blvd) have decided to take an unexpected break… no power, no water, no service.

The Wentworth Park Shelter will be closed for maintenance works from Tuesday 14 April to Friday 8 May 2026.

Directional Closure with Detours

Notice is given that the PROHIBITED Burning Period for the whole of the land district of the Shire of Capel has been extended from 31 March until 10 April 2026 inclusive, and subject to seasonal conditions may be extended again at this date.

We wish to advise that minor tree trimming and cartage of excess materials will be undertaken between Tuesday, 3 March and Friday, 6 March 2026 on the gravel section of Forrest Beach Road.

As part of the Boyanup Preston River Rise subdivision conditions, the developer will be commencing reconstruction works on Armstrong Road between SLK 1.77 and SLK 1.96 from 7:00 am on Monday, 23 February 2026.

Temporary lane closures will be implemented along Forrest Beach Road to facilitate filming works for a television series.

The Shire of Capel will be carrying out shoulder widening, kerbing and asphalt works on Gavins Road (SLK 7.21–16.31).

Please be advised that the Wave Walk Public Ablutions at Peppermint Grove Beach and the South Lake Park Public Ablutions in Dalyellup will be temporarily closed from Monday, 12 January 2026.
