Our Child Safety and Wellbeing Commitment
The safety and wellbeing of children and young people is at the heart of everything the we do.
The Shire of Capel Youth Services team believe every child has the right to feel safe, respected, valued and heard. We have zero tolerance for child abuse, harm or exploitation in any form, and we are committed to creating environments where children and young people are protected, supported and empowered to thrive.
We actively listen to the voices of children, young people and families, recognising that their experiences and perspectives matter. We celebrate the diversity of our community and are committed to culturally safe practices that honour and respect Aboriginal children and young people and support them to express their culture and exercise their rights.
We welcome and value the participation of all children and young people, including children with disability, children from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, children in care, and young people who identify as LGBTIQA+.
We are proud to be a Child Safe Organisation and are committed to embedding child safety into our leadership, governance and everyday practice so that every young person in our community can grow, connect and flourish with confidence.
