PEPPERMINT GROVE BEACH (HARDY TERRACE TO BANDI WALK) CLOSED FOR 24-HOURS Peppermint Grove Beach is temporarily closed following the discovery of a whale carcass that has washed ashore. For public safety, beach access is restricted while the site is assessed and the carcass is removed. Community are asked to please: - Stay out of the water - Keep clear of the affected area - Follow all signage and directions from Shire staff - Keep pets away from the beach We appreciate your cooperation and will provide updates if the situation changes.
An accredited helicopter contractor will conduct larvicide treatment dispersing insect growth regulator larvicide across the wetland to specifically target mosquito larvae breeding sites. The larvicides are non-toxic and species-specific, applied at rates of 6.5kg per hectare in the coastal wetlands of Dalyellup to Rich Road, Stratham over an area of 35 hectares (ha) on Wednesday 04 November 2026 from 9am AWST
