Review of Local Laws
In accordance with the Local Government Act 1995, the Shire of Capel is undertaking a review of the following Local Laws:
- Standing Orders Local Law 2016
- Waste Local Law 2016
- Thoroughfares Local Law 2016
- Property Local Law
- Parking Local Law 2016
- Health Local Law 2000
- Fencing Local Law 2016
- Extractive Industries Local Law 2016
- Dog Local Law 2017
- Cemeteries Local Law 2016
- Cat Local Law 2017
- Bushfire Brigades Local Law 2016
The purpose of the review is to ensure the Local Laws remain relevant, effective, and consistent with current legislative and operational requirements.
Copies of the Local Laws and information relating to the review are available on the Shire's website at www.capel.wa.gov.au/council/governance/local-laws.aspx or can be inspected at the Shire Administration Office during normal business hours.
Members of the public are invited to make written submissions regarding the Local Laws under review.
Submissions should be addressed to the Chief Executive Officer and received no later than 4.00 pm on 3 December 2026.
