Capel Youth Leadership Camp

The Capel Youth Leadership Camp took place on Wednesday 4th January to Friday 6th January. It was held at the Swan Valley Adventure Centre in Middle Swan. A huge thank you to our key supporter Doral Mineral Sands Mine. Thanks also to our sponsors who were able to provide scholarships for multiple young people, breaking down barriers to participation: South West Women’s Health and Information Centre, CWA WA – Capel Branch, and Don Punch MLA!

The camp was a huge success, with 32 young people engaging in leadership activities, working as a team in the social activities, and challenging themselves in the adventure activities.

The Capel Youth Leadership Camp had four main objectives:

  1. Increase young peoples’ knowledge of leadership in their communities
  2. Develop teamwork capabilities and understanding of others
  3. Increase social connections for young people to make new friends, and
  4. The opportunity for young people to try new things and challenge themselves.
