The Dalyellup Youth Collective (DYC) is a volunteer group of young people aged 12-17 years who live, work or study in the Shire of Capel.

The DYC brings together young people who want to develop themselves and make a difference in their community. DYC is focused on empowering youth-led, youth-driven projects that give young people the ability to organise and lead projects that benefit their communities.

About This Opportunity

As a Youth Leader, you will participate in weekly 1.5-hour meetings. You will raise a positive profile of young people in our community and attend community and youth events to promote the DYC, support the Shire’s Youth Services Strategy and advocate for local youth issues.

You will represent the DYC at Shire of Capel-organised events, such as the Outstanding Volunteers Breakfast and Captivate Capel. Additionally, you will work together with the Youth Development Officer to increase membership and youth participation.

You will discuss and decide the outcome of grant applications. All training and materials are provided. It is free to sign up and there is catering each week.
