The PROHIBITED Burning Period for the whole of the Shire of Capel remains and has been extended from 29 April to 5 May 2024 (inclusive).
Permits to burn will NOT be issued during this time.
Just around the corner from Peppermint Grove Beach the beautiful Stirling Estate & Stratham, is just 25 km from Bunbury. With Capelvale Winery just up the road, Stirling Estate is a must-see and stay location within the Shire of Capel. While there make sure to stop and visit Mallokup Bridge. Built by convicts around 1854. It was the first bridge over the Capel River and is located where the river enters the estuary. The causeway was built over the sandbar which forded the river.
