WOW... what a day!

Thank you to all 3,794 people who joined us for the official opening of the Dalyellup Library & Youth Hub on Saturday, plus the hundreds more who spent time in and around the event at the skatepark, outdoor workshops and playground!

We were absolutely blown away to welcome so many of our community through the doors. Seeing the precinct come alive with 4,000 smiling faces, families, young people and community was everything we had hoped for and more.

From story times and a passport scavenger hunt, escape room, sensory area, digital graffiti wall, toy library, 360 photo booth, art displays, tech activations and live entertainment, every corner of The Hub was buzzing with excitement.

The skate park workshops were a huge success, with more than 300 young people taking part throughout the day. It was fantastic to see so many then make their way into the Youth Hub, Tech Hub and library spaces afterwards to paint skateboard decks, step behind the microphone in our broadcast studio, game on the big screen and engage with our Youth Team to share ideas that will help shape future youth programs.

This incredible turnout shows just how much this new community space means to our Shire of Capel Community. The Dalyellup Library & Youth Hub is a space for everyone, and seeing it filled with connection, creativity, learning and laughter on its very first day was something truly special.

A huge thank you to our staff, volunteers, performers, activity providers, contractors, artists, community groups and everyone who helped make the day such a success. Thank you to the State Government and Lotterywest for providing the funding support to make this a reality and the many contractors who worked on the build to ensure we opened on time and on budget!

Most importantly, thank you to our community for embracing this exciting new chapter with us. We can't wait to welcome you back through the doors again soon. This is just the beginning.
