Lucas Jones, a young player from Southwest Phoenix Football Club, has been selected to represent the under 16’s Football West Country State Soccer team in Kuala Lumpur this December.
Lucas was selected following his performances with the Leeuwin Naturaliste Junior Soccer Association at the 2024 County Week tournament.
This is Lucas’s first year with the Phoenix side after spending the last few years playing for Georgiana Molloy Anglican School teams.
Thanks to support from the Shire of Capel Sports Participation Scheme, Lucas will be able to gain invaluable experience playing alongside other regional players from across Western Australia.
The tournament will showcase the talent and commitment of country players on an international stage, and assists in highlighting the strength of regional soccer in WA.
