Helicopter Mosquito Treatment

Published on Tuesday, 28 October 2025 at 8:00:00 AM

Today, the Shire’s Environmental Health team will be working with an accredited helicopter contractor to apply mosquito larvicide treatments to wetlands in the Dalyellup, Stratham and Peppermint Grove Beach areas.

This treatment targets mosquito larvae in breeding sites; however, adult mosquitoes already on the wing may remain active for the next couple of weeks.

Barmah Forest virus has been detected in the region this season. To reduce your risk of being bitten, please:
✅ Limit time outdoors in mosquito-prone areas, particularly at dawn and dusk
✅ Wear long, loose-fitting clothing
✅ Use insect repellents
For further information regarding repellents, including their usage for children, please refer to
or contact an Environmental Health Officer from our team for further information.
