Helicopter Mosquito Treatment

Published on Wednesday, 15 October 2025 at 2:07:20 PM

The Environmental Health team will be working with an accredited helicopter contractor to conduct a mosquito larvicide treatment in the area of Peppermint Grove Beach only.

The helicopter may be observed working across these areas, dispersing granular larvicides across the wetland larval breeding sites.

Biting adults are likely to be present at this time of the year due to the large volumes of standing water across the Shire.

The Shire highly recommends that the public take protective measures to avoid being bitten.

Measures include limiting your time outdoors in mosquito prone areas, wearing long, loose clothing and using appropriate insect repellents (with active ingredient DEET).
