Have Your Say: Shaping the Future of Our Towns

The Shire of Capel is inviting community feedback on the Integrated Growth Framework and Plan (IGFP) — a key strategic project that will guide how our towns grow and evolve, while protecting the unique character, culture, and environment that make our region special.

The IGFP has been developed to ensure the Shire is “growth ready”, supporting sustainable development that reflects the individuality of Capel, Boyanup, Dalyellup, Gelorup, and Peppermint Grove Beach. The plan sets out a shared vision and provides guidance for future land use, infrastructure, design, and community spaces.

What’s Included in the IGFP

The Integrated Growth Framework and Plan is made up of four key components:

Integrated Vision Framework – Outlines a district-wide vision of “A Lifestyle of Choice, Connecting Community, Culture and Country.”
Place Design Guide – Establishes design principles for buildings, landscaping, and public spaces that celebrate the distinct character of each town.
Masterplan Concepts – Provides high-level land use and design direction for growth areas, identifying opportunities for new neighbourhoods, improved connectivity, and enhanced open spaces.
Implementation Matrix – Sets out the actions and priorities for each townsite, including recreation, environmental, and cultural heritage initiatives.

These are the final draft documents, and your feedback will play an important role in refining and finalising the plan.

Community Consultation Sessions

Everyone is invited to come along to a drop-in session to view the plans, chat with Shire staff, and share feedback:

Shire staff will also be attending the Dalyellup Jingle & Mingle Festival, so come down, say hello, and have a chat about the future of Dalyellup and our growing communities.
