Request for Street Trees Now Open!
Published on Wednesday, 20 March 2024 at 12:07:45 PM
As part of our commitment to enhancing our communities green spaces and fostering a healthier environment, we are inviting all residents to submit an application for our Parks team to supply and plant the tree at no cost to residents.
To ensure a successful establishment, we kindly request that you water your new tree once
or twice a week for the first year. The ongoing maintenance and pruning of the tree is the responsibility of the Shire.
This year we will be planting two native species both endemic to the South West
Agonis flexuosa (WA Peppermint) - provides natural habitat to the critically endangered Western ringtail possum.
Corymbia ficifolia (Red Flowering Gum) - spectacular floral show with bright clusters during Summer

Planting trees not only adds to the aesthetic appeal of our streets but also offers numerous environmental benefits, including improved air quality, habitat for wildlife and reduced urban heat island effect.
Let's work together to make our community greener and a great place for all creatures big and small to call home.
Applications must be received by 30th April 2024 for this year's planting.
