Leame' Janse van Rensburg is a determined and passionate young athlete who has shown exceptional talent and commitment in the sport of cross country and athletics. At just 10 years old, Leame' has already earned the honour of representing Western Australia at the 2025 National Cross Country Championships, taking place on the Gold Coast from 7–10 September.
Leame’s running journey began at a young age and has steadily progressed through local school carnivals, interschool events, and state-level competitions. Her strong work ethic, sportsmanship, and drive to continually improve have set her apart. Training several times a week - with her coach, Bruce Cornish - while balancing school and family life, Leame' has embraced every opportunity to grow both as an athlete and as a role model for her peers.
The generous sponsorship from the Shire of Capel plays a crucial role in helping Leame' reach this significant milestone. The funding will assist in covering travel, accommodation, and uniform costs associated with the national event - relieving financial pressure on her family and allowing Leame' to focus on performing at her best.
This opportunity not only allows Leame' to compete at the highest level for her age group but also instills valuable life lessons in resilience, discipline, and community spirit. Your support enables a young athlete to proudly represent her region and inspires other local youth to chase their dreams.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to the Shire of Capel for believing in Leame and helping her take this important step in her sporting journey.
