The Shire will be conducting aerial treatments of wetlands within the Dalyellup and Stratham that are known breeding sites.
The helicopter may be observed working across these areas, dispersing granular larvicides across the wetland larval breeding sites.
The treatment targets mosquito larvae: however, adult mosquitoes already on the wing may remain active for the next couple of weeks.
Ross River virus and Barmah Forest virus has recently been detected in the South West; to reduce your risk of being bitten, please:
• Limit time outdoors in mosquito-prone areas, particularly at dawn and dusk
• Wear long, loose-fitting clothing
