Nestled on the Capel River is the cute little town of Capel with a quirky sense of humour.

People are a little horse-mad in Capel. Rightly so, as the home of 1999 Melbourne Cup winner Rogan Josh.

Capel was originally called Coolingnup. The name was changed to Capel in 1899.
