Give it another life this Christmas!
Join us for Repair, Rewear & Rejoice – a free, family-friendly morning celebrating repairing, reusing and swapping what we already have.
From 10 am, browse the Christmas Clothes Swap, bring something along for the Bunbury Repair Café, and enjoy activities for the kids with the Tuart Forest Toy Library.
Then at 11 am, pick up a needle and thread and join The Great Global Mend! Councils and organisations across WA will be mending together in a simultaneous, record-breaking mass repair moment.
Bring along a favourite garment that needs a little love – a missing button, split seam, small tear or patch – and learn how to repair it with help from experienced menders. No sewing experience needed. No judgement. Just the joy of learning a new skill and keeping something going a little longer.
What’s happening?
- The Great Global Mend | 11 am–12 pm
Learn basic hand sewing, stitching, patching and mending skills while joining a statewide mass-mending moment.
Bunbury Repair Café | From 10 am
Have something that needs fixing? Bring along clothing, small appliances, toys and other household items and see if our volunteer repairers can help give them another life.
Christmas Clothes Swap | From 10 am
Refresh your festive wardrobe without buying new! Bring along good-quality clothing you no longer wear and swap it for something new-to-you. Men’s, women’s and children’s clothing are welcome – especially summer wear, Christmas-themed pieces and outfits perfect for the festive season.
Kids Activity Area + Tuart Forest Toy Library
Bring the whole family along, with activities and play available for our littlest repairers and reusers.
What should I bring?
Bring along:
- A garment needing a minor mend, stitch or patch
- One or a few good-quality clothing items to swap
- A small household item you’d like the Repair Café to take a look at your curiosity and a willingness to learn!
Come along, learn a skill, swap something old for something new-to-you and help keep good things in use for longer.
