D Connect meet ups are friendly, relaxed catch ups designed by and for people with disability, with lived experience at the heart of everything we do.
They are a chance to connect, chat, and be part of your local community in a space where you do not need to explain yourself. You can join the conversation, listen along, or simply enjoy being there. There is no pressure to speak and no expectation to participate in anything you do not want to.
Each meet up includes real conversations about what is happening locally, events and activities people want to attend, and what makes it harder or easier to get involved. These discussions help shape more accessible and inclusive communities across the South West and often lead to new ideas, connections, and positive change.
You will also hear about the All Access Events program, share experiences from events you have attended, and help decide what should be looked at next. Some sessions include a short activity or a guest from a local community group, but everything is optional and designed to be welcoming and low stress.
D Connect is built by people with disability, for people with disability. Family members, carers, friends, and community members are welcome to attend too, as long as they share our vision of making the South West a more inclusive and accessible place for everyone.
Please RSVP so we can organise food. Everyone is welcome, even if you are unsure or decide on the day.
