Shire appoints new CEO

The Shire of Capel has appointed a new Chief Executive Officer.

Shire President Cr Michael Southwell said today that after a long and exhaustive process, the Council was pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Gordon MacMile.

Cr Southwell said:

‘Mr MacMile currently works for the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries and has a strong Local and State Government background.’

‘Mr MacMile’s appointment was the culmination of a thorough process designed to ensure the best candidate was successful’.

‘We were extremely pleased to have a strong field of candidates, many of whom met or exceeded our selection criteria. At the conclusion of deliberations, Mr MacMile was the unanimous choice of the Committee and this recommendation was endorsed by the Council at its June meeting’.

Mr MacMile is now enjoying a well-earned holiday with his family and will commence employment with Capel on 16 August 2021.
