Fight The Bite Coffee Cup Giveaway
The Environmental Health team have invited local businesses to participate in a โFTB (Fight the Bite) coffee cup giveawayโ, as part of our mosquito awareness campaign.
The FTB campaign aims to educate and empower residents and visitors to take actions to avoid being bitten by mosquitos, reducing the risk of mosquito borne disease such as Ross River virus and Barmah Forrest virus. The key messages are to โCover Upโ and โRepelโ. To avoid being bitten try to limit time outdoors in mosquito prone areas, wear long loose clothing and use a repellent containing either DEET or Picardin.
The aim of the giveaway is to raise the profile of the Fight the Bite message whilst encouraging residents to frequent local businesses. The glass coffee cups are consistent with the Shires sustainable message. When making purchases at participating businesses members of the community have their FTB card stamped. If 8 stamps are collected, they will be eligible to collect a free glass coffee cup from the Shire of Capel Admin Office or Dalyellup, Capel and Boyanup Library until stocks end of 3rd March 2023 or stocks last.
