Capel Youth Advisory Collective (YAC)

The Capel Youth Advisory Collective (YAC) is a group of young people aged 12-17 who attend weekly meetings to plan the INZONE school holidays program.
The group engage in leadership and project management activities to give them the necessary skills to plan youth activities, events in initiatives within the Shire of Capel.
These young people learn how to conduct effective meetings through the delegation of tasks such as president, vice president, treasurer, and secretary.
They use this meeting structure to report on the outcomes of their programs and improve for future initiatives.
The meetings run from 4:00-5:30pm every Monday in Capel. It is free to sign up and there is catering provided each week. All training and materials are provided.
What is involved?
- Planning the INZONE school holidays program
- Organising youth-friendly events and activities
- Learning new skills to advocate for youth in the Shire of Capel.
Who can sign up?
To join the Capel Youth Advisory Collective, you must be aged 12-17, live in the Shire of Capel, and be able to attend the weekly meetings and occasional optional volunteering.
