Let’s skate
The Capel Region is a skating destination. Skate popularity is continuing to grow, with the sport set to feature in the next Olympics. We want to support and manage skating in the Shire.
Why skate?
Here are just a few benefits…
Equality
Skating livens public spaces by providing an accessible, equal-opportunity way to participate.
Sustainability
It’s a sustainable way to get around, stay healthy and happy.
Community
It connects the community with each other.
Find your local
Different styles of skating use different spaces. From skate parks and bowls to streets and pathways – we have something to suit you.
Dalyellup
This hybrid design based on a California “flow” bowl design is a 795sqm plaza style skate park with a 330sqm flow bowl zone.
Capel
Halfpipe and quarter pipe that flows into other skateable elements in the Capel Civic Precinct.
Boyanup
Skate year-round in this undercover concrete bowl with extension. There are also some rails around the bowl.
Gelorup
You can skate at this smooth park with 5ft half pipe, quarter pipe, and steel fun box.
Dalyellup skate park
The hybrid design based on a California “flow” bowl design, and an elongated “snake run” style bowl is not seen anywhere else in the South West.
Located in the Dalyellup town precinct, close to public transport and amenities, this facility will be complemented by a new nature playground and BMX pump track in the future, forming a new community hub, which will be accessible for all families, and serviced by the proposed Dalyellup Multipurpose Community and Youth Centre.
𝗗𝗮𝗹𝘆𝗲𝗹𝗹𝘂𝗽 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗰𝘁 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝟮 – 𝘀𝗲𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗙𝗲𝗯 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟯!
Excitement is building around the development of Stage 2 – Pump Track at the Dalyellup Youth Precinct, after a successful grant funding has been announced. As part of the Community Sporting and Recreation Facilities Fund (CSRFF) the Shire will receive $66,667 towards the project, which has an estimated project total of $230,000.
This is the second stage in the development of an integrated community and youth recreation precinct, on the community purposes site within the broader Dalyellup District Centre.
The current proposal involves the construction of a 420sqm facility next to the recently completed Dalyellup Skate Park, and a future adventure playground.
Construction is anticipated to commence in February 2023 after a detailed design phase and due for completion by June 2023.
