Tuart Forest National Park

This forest is the only remaining naturally occurring Tuart Forest in the world. It was the first State Forest established in WA and covers an area of approximately 2280 hectares. The Tuart Forest National Park is situated on the Coastal plain between Capel and Busselton. It is home to a diverse range of flora and fauna, including the highest population of Ringtail Possums (an endangered species) in the state. This beautiful open forest with its unique mix of tuart, peppermint trees and grasses, gives a park like appearance, and is ideal for bushwalking, picnics and nature studies. It contains old lime burning kilns which were used for over 100 years.
