NATIONAL RELAY SERVICE

Are you, or someone you know, having trouble communicating with Council?

Perhaps the National Relay Service (NRS) may be able to help.

The NRS is an Australia-wide telephone access service provided by the Australian Government for people who are deaf or have a hearing or speech impairment. It is also available to anyone who wants to call a person with a hearing or speech impairment.

The NRS offers a 24 hour relay service, , for “type and listen” calls, for customers who have difficulty speaking or communicating but can hear adequately, as well as “speak and read” calls for customers who are deaf or have difficulty hearing.

Access to the NRS can be easily made by phoning 1800 555 630 for TTY, 1800 555 660 for voice, 1800 555 690 by fax, or email helpdesk@relayservice.com.au for further information on how this service can benefit you and what is involved in being able to use this service. You can also visit the NRS website at www.relayservice.com.au.
