The
NRS is an Australia-wide telephone access service provided by
the Australian Government for people who are deaf or have a hearing
or speech impairment. It is also available to anyone who wants
to call a person with a hearing or speech impairment.
The NRS offers a 24 hour relay service, , for “type and
listen” calls, for customers who have difficulty speaking
or communicating but can hear adequately, as well as “speak
and read” calls for customers who are deaf or have difficulty
hearing.
Access to the NRS can be easily made by phoning 1800 555 630 for
TTY, 1800 555 660 for voice, 1800 555 690 by fax, or
email helpdesk@relayservice.com.au
