Food Sampling

The Environmental Health Services staff regularly sample foods grown and produced in the Shire.  The foods are teste to assess whether they meet the requirements of the Australia New Zealand Food Standards Code.  The Code has been developed by the Australia New Zealand Food Authority.

The Code covers both the composition of food and sale of the products and imported foods.

Council Environmental Health Staff regularly sample foods for surveys conducted by the Food Unit of the Department of Health and the Local Health Authorities Analytical Committee.
