COMMUNITY EMERGENCY RISK SURVEY AND WORKSHOPS
The Shire of Capel, through the Local Emergency Management Committee, has been undertaking a survey to determine what the community considers to be likely emergency incidents in our district and how significant the consequences of such an incident would be.
The next step in the process will be conducting community workshops at which the community responses and perceived risks will be examined against historical data on the actual occurrence of particular incidents. Input will also be sort from the community to help to determine the priorities for treatment of the actual risks identified.
The community workshops will be held as follows:
- Jack and Mary Kitchen Community Centre, Thomas Street Boyanup on Tuesday 4th June 2013 from 12 noon to 4.30pm
- Peppermint Grove Beach Community Centre, Hayfield Drive Peppermint Grove Beach, also on Tuesday 4th June 2013 from 5.30pm until 10.00pm.
- Dalyellup Community Centre, Gosse way Dalyellup on Saturday 15th June from 12 noon until 4.30pm.

TOWN PLANNING SCHEME POLICY
‘Capel Townsite District Water Management Strategy’
In accordance with Clause 8.9 of the above Scheme, Council resolved at its meeting on 17 April 2013 to adopt the “Capel Townsite District Water Management Strategy” as Planning Policy 15.24.
The Policy provides a framework for district water management in the town of Capel particularly in relation to the management of stormwater, groundwater, water conservation and other design criteria related to urban subdivision and development.
The policy is available for viewing on the Shire website site at www.capel.wa.gov.au or can be viewed at the Shire Office.
